7 Months

7 months was such a fun month. She is really getting such a personality of her own. I am definitely loving being a mom. I weighed her at the end of the month and she is now around 19.6 lbs. I forgot to measure her though so I am not sure what her height is.

Things I want to remember from this month are:
-Swimming for the first time.
-She has really taken off with the crawling. It didn't take long before she was pulling her self up too. I guess she could not get into enough when she was just crawling.
-She loves to get into EVERYTHING! I spend the better part of my day chasing her around making sure she is not pulling the trash can over or the dishwasher rack out of the dishwasher (she has done both of these things).
-How nosy she is! If she hears a sound she looks all over the room to find out where it is coming from.
-Her giggle. One day we were getting ready for work and I hear Kendyl start cracking up. I figured Matt was making her laugh so I go to find her, but she was in the hallway by herself. As it turns out, Katie was running around like a loony tune and Kendyl thought it was hilarious.
-Towards the end of the month she cut her first tooth. I always hear such horror stories about when kids get their teeth, but she really didn't seem too bothered by it. She continued to sleep through the night and wasn't even that fussy.
-She is beginning to understand peek-a-boo. She likes when I cover my eyes with her feet.
-She cannot stand it when things are put away! She HATES when laundry is in a basket, when Katie's toys are in her toy box, when toys are stacked on top of each other, when stuff is in her diaper bag, etc. Her favorite thing is pulling anything out of where it is and knocking over anything in piles. I have started waiting until she is asleep to fold laundry because if not I would have to fold it 3 or 4 times.

This was the only picture I could get that she wasn't sucking on her bottom lip. I guess her teeth were bothering her that day?

This one makes me laugh. The "cheese" smile is back!

I love her little face in this picture.

Katie and Kendyl :)

These were her first attempts at crawling :)

Uncle Ben feeding Kendyl while we were at Costa Vida.

She loves nestling her face in the cushions.

Hmmm....I am going to "help" dad with the dishes.

At the peach festival

Kendyl and Dad

This was the best one that I got...ha ha

Kendyl's future husband and mother-in law :)

Rough day at the peach festival!

I saw this chair at Target and had to take a picture with Kendyl in it.

She LOVES her crib!

She got herself all wrapped up in the blanket...

Katie was VERY intrigued!

She finally stopped squirming so I looked under the blanket to see what she was doing and this is what I found :)

Getting into Katie's toys

Getting into my ribbon box...

First time in her new big girl high chair. She seriously loves sitting in this chair!

After bath time

She LOVES to pull the tissues out of the tissue box. Apparently she likes to eat them too?

We started giving her water in a sippy cup. It's one of her new favorite toys!

Swimming for the first time. At first she was a little unsure, but she eventually warmed up to it.

I love this picture :)

This was so funny because she kept splashing the water and it would splash up in her face. She hated when the water would splash her yet she kept doing it.

6 months

I know this is long overdue, but in my defense I have been SO busy. I was slacking a little bit with taking pictures during the 6th month but more than made up for it in month 7. At her 6th month appointment she was 25 2/3" (50th percentile) and weighed 19.1 lbs (97th percentile). The doctor told us to start feeding her cereal for breakfast instead of milk to decrease the calories she was getting. It took a little getting used to at first, but now she LOVES her cereal! She did pretty well with her shots. I am pretty sure it is harder on me than it is her. Fortunately, Matt makes sure to be at every appointment so he can help the both of us ;) Speaking of Matt, during this month we celebrated our 3 year anniversary. My sister was nice enough to babysit for us so we could go out on a date. We decided to go look at model homes (something we used to go do all the time before Kendyl) and then went to dinner at Nando's. Although it is not always easy to leave it is definitely something we need to do more often. We really enjoyed our time with just the 2 of us. The things I want to remember from month 6 are:
-The ahh game she would play with Matt. He could be in the other room and say, "ahh" and she would look all around for him and then reply, "ahh." This would seriously go for about 5-6 rounds. It was so cute!
-Toward the end of the month she started crawling. Not very well, but she could get from point A to point B.
-Sleeping through the night...every night! Since 6 months she has been going to bed around 7:30 or 8:00 and she sleeps until 6:00 or 7:00 the next morning. She still takes 2 naps a day which helps me to get some stuff done around the house.

Here are some pictures:
This dress was my mom's dress when she was a baby. My mom was so excited to have her wear it!

Matt's cousin had a baby 4 months after us. This is Kendyl meeting Arlen on Easter. Holding a newborn again gave me the itch for another one big time!

Snuggling with her new bunny from Uncle Jay :)

I love Katie in the background of this picture.

Her new thing is sucking the water out of cloths. She does it to paper towels when I wash her face, (clean) wipes when I am changing her diaper (I take these ones away from her), and her wash cloth during bath time.
